Part 4 – Supernatural Facts of The Bible

Supernatural Facts of the Bible proving the Scriptures were God inspired

The Ark’s design was thousands of years ahead of its time. (Genesis 6:14-16) The Ark was to be 450 feet long, 75 feet wide, and 45 feet high. It was to have three decks with a combined area of 101,250 square feet, and a capacity of over one and a half million cubic feet. It was a vessel of over 43,000 tons, and nearly equal in size to the Titanic.

In 1609 a Holland company built a ship after the pattern of the Ark. It revolutionized the shipbuilding industry. Today most ships are still built to similar proportions. There is no way that Noah would have had the knowledge to build the Ark, without the divine instructions from God. The vessel that Noah built was very different and much larger than boats of that era. The boats of Noah’s time were small flat-bottomed boats powered by oars or a combination of oars and a fixed sail.

In comparison, the Ark that Noah built would be much closer in design and size to the Titanic, than to the boats of his time.

The first books of the Bible, God gave many laws concerning hygiene, to protect his people even though there was no knowledge of microscopic diseases.

The books of Leviticus and Deuteronomy are filled with various hygiene instructions. If someone is sick, they were instructed to cover any open vessel that contained food or beverages. If someone was suffering from a plague, the Jews were directed to remove them outside the camp, with someone to go with them and care for them. They were instructed to constantly cleanse their hands and clothing while treating the sick. The Israelites were commanded to bury human waste. These sanitary instructions were to prevent the spread of germs and disease. Man did not discover microorganisms until the invention of the microscope in 1675. It wasn’t until 1872 when Louis Pasteur connected germs with the spreading of disease and sickness.

During the Black Death of the fourteenth century, patients who were sick or dead were kept in the same room as the rest of the family. Millions of lives could have been saved if God’s instructions in Leviticus concerning quarantine had been adhered to. The death rate among the Jews was significantly less because of their attention to God’s laws written 3000 years earlier.

Leviticus 15:13, instructed those with any discharge to wash themselves and their clothes under running water. Only in recent years have doctors begun to not only wash their hands but to wash them under running water.

Thousands of years before modern science identified bacteria, God made provisions for Israel by banning the eating of meat that may be spoiled by bacteria. (Exodus 22:31)

In Leviticus 17:11, God tells that our body’s life is in our blood. In 1616, William Harvey discovered that blood circulation is the key factor to physical life. Confirming what the Bible had said 3000 years earlier. Up until 120 years ago, sick people were ‘bled’. Many died because of this practice.

Medical science has determined that there is a strong correlation between one’s mental and physical health. The Bible spoke of this, thousands of years ago. (Proverbs 14:30, 15:30, 16:24, and 17:22)
