Pre-tribulation, mid-tribulation, or a post-tribulation rapture? I know this can be a controversial subject among Christians. Please read the entire short post before commenting.
I believe the Bible is very clear, the Rapture of the saints is the next event on the prophetic calendar. The time is short and people need to be prepared. We need to make sure our friends and family are ready.
Why is the Bible clear about a pre-tribulation rapture? There are several reasons, but I am only going to give three reasons, that I believe are enough to justify this view.
First, the Bible tells us that we will not have to endure the wrath of the Antichrist. (1 Thessalonians 1:10, 5:9)
The Lord promised the believers that we would not have to endure the tribulation. (Since you have kept my command to endure patiently, I will also keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come on the whole world to test the inhabitants of the earth. Revelation 3:) Jesus promises to keep His people not just from the testing but from “the hour of testing.” God will keep His people not just from the trials of the tribulation but from the tribulation itself.
Woe to anyone that will experience the wrath of Satan and the Antichrist during the tribulation.
Second, Jesus said that only the Father in heaven knows when the rapture will occur (Matthew 24:36). Jesus was on earth when He spoke those words. Now that He is back in heaven, He would, of course, know the time.
Only the pre-tribulation rapture meets that at-any-moment expectation of the Lord’s coming.
Third, the church is mentioned seventeen times in the first three chapters in Revelation, but not mentioned again until chapter 19, when it (the believers) returns with the Lord at His glorious appearing.
Professor Richard Mayhue stated: “It is remarkable and totally unexpected that John would shift from detailed instructions for the church to absolute silence about the church….If, in fact, the church continued into the tribulation. If the church will experience the tribulation…. then surely the most detailed study of tribulation events would include an account of the church’s role. But it doesn’t!”
Pastor David Jeremiah writes: “Yet in all the New Testament, there is not a single statement to warn Christians of the coming Great Tribulation or to help them prepare for it…….. Isn’t it strange that God never gave one tidbit of information, encouragement, warning, or instruction on the preparation for it? The reason for that omission is clear: the church will not be present at all when the tribulation comes.”
How could the church (the believers) return with the Lord and the angels, if they were not already in heaven? (Revelation 19:11-14)
The time is short, much of the end time prophecy has been fulfilled. The next prophecy to be fulfilled will be the rapture. Are you ready? Are your friends and family ready?
