New scientific discoveries are pointing to a much younger earth. An Earth that is 6,000 to 10,000 years old. This post is the third and last in the series showing still more evidence for a young earth.

Cosmic Dust: There is a constant rate of cosmic dust particles entering the earth’s atmosphere from space and then settling to the earth’s surface. According to NASA, there are 200 million tons of dust coming to earth every year. If the earth were 4.6 billion years old as evolutionists claim, there would be a layer of meteoritic dust nearly a half mile in thickness over the entire world. The same would be true of the moon. In fact, one of the concerns before the moon landing was that the astronauts would sink into the dust upon landing on the moon. Of course, that didn’t happen, which speaks of a very young moon, earth, and universe.  (G.S. Hawkins, Ed., Meteor Orbits and Dust, published by NASA, 1976)

Evolutionists had long held to the fact that the earth and moon are about the same age. It is believed, by many, that the Earth and its moon are billions of years old. If that were true, the moon would by now have built up a 20-60 mile layer of dust on it!

“I get a picture, therefore, of the first spaceship [to the moon], picking out a nice level place for landing purposes, coming slowly downward tail-first and sinking majestically out of sight.” (Isaac Asimov, Asimov on Science: A Thirty-Year Retrospective)

In the 1950’s, R.A. Lyttleton, a highly respected astronomer, stated: “The lunar surface is exposed to direct sunlight, and strong ultraviolet light and X-rays [from the sun] can destroy the surface layers of exposed rock and reduce them to dust at the rate of a few ten-thousandths of an inch per year. But even this minute amount could, during the age of the moon, be sufficient to form a layer over it several miles deep.”

Given this, our men at NASA were afraid to send men to the moon. They feared that they would be buried in dust and quickly suffocate! So NASA first sent an unmanned lander to its surface, which made the surprising discovery that there was hardly any dust on the moon! In spite of that discovery, Neil Armstrong was worried about this dust problem as his March 1970 flight in Apollo 11 neared. He feared his lunar lander would sink deeply into it and he and Edwin Aldrin would perish. But because the moon is young, there is not over 2 or 3 inches of dust on its surface! That is the amount one would expect if the moon were about 6000-8000 years old. (Vance Ferrell, Science and Evolution)

Carbon-14 Disintegration: The present worldwide buildup of radiocarbon in the atmosphere would have produced all the world’s radiocarbon in several thousand years. Ironically, it is Carbon 14 that is used by evolutionary scientists in an attempt to prove that life has existed on our planet for millions of years! Robert Whitelaw, a nuclear and engineering expert at Virginia Polytechnic Institute, found that the production rate is not equal to the disintegration rate. In fact, his calculations reveal a recent turning on of the C-14 clock. Otherwise, the two factors would be balanced. Whitelaw’s research indicates that the clock was turned on approximately 8000 years ago.  (Vance Ferrell, Science and Evolution)

Dinosaur Soft Tissue: Research on a supposedly 65-million-year-old Tyrannosaurus Rex named Sue has confirmed the existence of blood vessels, cells with nuclei, tissue elasticity, and intact protein fragments consistent with the creationist belief that dinosaurs died off 3000 to 4000 years ago. Research on Egyptian mummies and other old age humans have established 10,000 years as an upper limit for how long such biological tissue could survive. Such soft tissue was also found on two separate triceratops, plus an extinct marine reptile called a mosasaur. (Dr. David Menton, Soft Tissue in Fossils, Answers Magazine, October 1, 2012)  

This research is proof that dinosaurs lived alongside man, just as is recorded in the Bible. God spoke of two creatures in the Book of Job which were obviously dinosaurs. The behemoth in chapter forty and the Leviathan in chapter forty-one. The Leviathan that God is describing may well be a plesiosaur, a large seagoing reptile that evolutionists claim was extinct millions of years before man was on earth. The Leviathan is also mentioned in Isaiah 27:1, Psalms 74:14 and Psalms 104:26.

 Evolutionists claim that dinosaurs were extinct 60 million years before man walked the earth. Any proof that man lived along with dinosaurs destroys the theory of evolution. This is something that evolutionist simply will not accept. Any evidence proving that man and dinosaurs lived concurrently is met with resistance and is quickly explained away, sometimes with rather bizarre explanations. However, the proof still exists that dinosaurs were here for some time after the flood.

Dinosaur and human tracks can be seen alongside each other in the Paxley River bed in Texas. One track clearly shows a right human footprint in compelling detail, almost completely within a dinosaur footprint.

  The Creation Evidence Museum of Texas has a set of Cretaceous footprints discovered by archaeologist Alvis Delk. This fossil of Glen Rose limestone consists of a dinosaur footprint (Acrocanthosaurus) on top of an eleven-inch human footprint. The human footprint matches several other fossil footprints in the area. In the Soviet Union scientists have reported more than 2000 fossil dinosaur footprints alongside tracks resembling human footprints. Obviously, these would have been made in the same time period in mud or similar soft earth which later hardened into rock.

Besides, the footprints there is all the legends of dragons that were probably dinosaurs. There are also numerous cave drawings and sculptures that depict various dinosaurs. These were long before modern man discovered fossils and knew of the existence of dinosaurs. There are also numerous footprints of horses and other animals, alongside those of dinosaurs that supposedly were already extinct for millions of years.

Evolutionist completely ignores any evidence such as this, which they admit would destroy the theory of evolution and the age of the earth. I cover much more of this type of evidence in my upcoming book.

Where Are All the people: If as evolutionist believe, man has been present on the earth for 3.8 million years, where are all the people. Even with the smallest margin of population growth in 3.8 million years, our current population would number well into the trillions of people. But more important, where are all the bones? In 3.8 million years we should find large numbers of human fossils.

In only one site in South Africa, there are 800 Billion vertebrate fossils buried in the Karoo Formation. There are 3000 complete or near-complete dinosaur fossils and millions of incomplete fossils. If there are so many animal fossils, why are there so few human fossils in comparison. If billions of people have been living and dying for 3.8 million years, where are the bones? Or, where are the tools or weapons of war? It is inconceivable that man lived on earth for billions of years and didn’t leave any trace of his existence. It is just as unbelievable that only in the last few thousands of years did man discover that plants grow from seeds and that he could have more of the plants that he desired by planting seeds.

Ocean Concentrations: We have a reasonably good idea of the amount of various elements and salts that are in the oceans and also how much is being added yearly by rivers, subterranean springs, rainwater, and other sources. A comparison of the two factors points to a young age for the ocean and thus for the earth. Of the 51 primary chemical elements contained in seawater, twenty could have accumulated to their present concentrations in 1000 years or less, nine additional elements in no more than 10,000 years, and eight others in no more than 100,000 years at the most. These figures are based on the theory that none of these elements existed in the ocean at the beginning, although, they may very well have, which would shorten these times even more.

Escaping Natural Gas: Oil and gas are usually located in porous and permeable rock, like sandstone or limestone, which is sealed by an impermeable rock-like shale. Fluids and gas can easily travel through the containing rock, but more slowly pass out of the impermeable cap. Evolutionary theory postulates that tens or hundreds of millions of years ago, the oil and gas were trapped in there. But natural gas can still get through the shale cap. A recent study analyzed the rate of escape of gas through shale caps. It was found to be far too rapid for acceptance by evolutionary theory. If the world were billions of years old, all the natural gas would already have escaped. (Vance Ferrell, Science and Evolution)

There is far more evidence than I am able to cover here that proves the earth is less than 10,000 years old.

The standard secular timeline is that the earth is some 4.6 billion years old. The theory of an old earth is in direct contrast to what the Bible teaches. The Bible gives us a chronological and genealogical history of people and events beginning from the time of creation, throughout history, making the earth a little over 6000 years old. An old earth is important for the evolutionists. They believe that given enough time, anything is possible, even evolution. There is a lot of controversy over the various dating methods; many have been shown to be in error by millions of years. I will be deal with these later.
