Getting to Heaven

Jesus is preparing a place for us in heaven.

“My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.” (John 14: 2-3).

What do we need to do?

To begin with, we need to admit that we are all sinners. We are all born of Adam and because sin entered his life and we are descendants of him, we are all born with a sinful nature.

Jesus paid the price for our salvation.

for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood.” (Romans 3:23-25).

There is a time coming when we all will either end up in hell or heaven. Hell – a place of endless anguish or heaven – a place of endless peace and joy. A place Jesus said we cannot imagine what it would be like.

The only way to Heaven.

Jesus is the only way.

“Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6).

“Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.” (1 John 5:5).

“I am the door, If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved,” (John 10:9).

“And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus,” (Ephesians 2:6).

What’s our guarantee?

As believers in Christ, we are immediately sealed until the rapture and the resurrection.

“the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.” (Ephesians 4:30).

“Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.” (2 Corinthians 1:21-22).

“God, who has given us the Spirit as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come…..For we live by faith, not by sight.” (2 Corinthians 5:5,7).

“When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption (the rapture) of those who are God’s possession.” (Ephesians 1:13-14).

We have God’s word that the Spirit has sealed us until the day of redemption.

This means God has put His personal seal upon us through the Holy Spirit. We have His protection until the day Christ returns. The devil cannot touch us, for we belong to God. He can tempt us and make our lives miserable at times, but he cannot take our salvation from us. We can have faith that we will share eternity with Jesus.

However, we still have our free will. For God never took anyone’s free will from them, not man, not the angels, not the demons, or even the devil himself.

The devil may get you discouraged and you may turn your back on God, but it has to be your choice. Only you can break the seal that God has placed on you.

“Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.” (James 1:12)(NKJV).

We have God’s assurance that we will never be tempted beyond what we can bear.

“No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.” (1 Corinthians 10:13.)

God has made every provision for us to spend eternity in heaven. He has made it easy for us through His Son Jesus Christ. Life as a Christian may not always be easy for we live in a fallen world. But becoming a Christian is. All you have to do is accept Christ into your life. Jesus will accept you just as you are.

Are you ready for heaven? If not, admit you’re a sinner. and ask Christ’s forgiveness. Then start living for Christ. Don’t worry if you fail, we all do, just keep living for Christ Jesus. His grace will cover your sins and keep you. You have God’s seal of the Holy Spirit within you. You are guaranteed a place in Heaven. I will see you in heaven!
